Brisbane Floods

An extreme example of flooding in a MEDC. The scale and impacts are immense. Management strategies were developed from the last big floods in 1974, such as the building of a dam, however due to the amount of rainfall, these have proved ineffective.
Look at the BBC news etc for information about the causes etc.

Flooding

On November 21st 2009, my home town was affected by flood waters. At present the Main Street is still closed to traffic and the shops and offices are still drying out. Homes are still inhabitable, but new measures have been put in place, such as dredging gravel from the river beds.
